10000 Best Western Rewards Points Won In Contest Saved Me This Much

best westernA couple of days back the Michael W Travels family celebrated Lucas’s 6th birthday!

This year Lucas wanted to go on a special trip for his birthday. While we would’ve loved to fly somewhere, the timing just wasn’t right. In the end, we decided to drive to Pennsylvania so Lucas could have some fun at the Legoland Discovery Center.

We wanted to stay close to Lego the night before, so I decided to book at stay for us at the Hyatt House which is around 10 minutes away.

After Lucas gets to play at Legoland, we have some other things we want to do in the area. The following day we figured a children’s museum or some sort of other kid friendly activity would be the way to go.

I was hoping to find a deal on a hotel night. In the end, points I won in a travel contest which I won back in November were the perfect fit.

In November I won 10,000 Best Western Rewards points through the Black Friday Instant Win Game.

It turned out that 10,000 points could be redeemed for a free night in North America until January 31.

With no other trips planned for this month, Lucas’s birthday weekend would be a great time to redeem my points.

There was one property in Philadelphia that I would’ve loved to have stayed in but it wasn’t available. However, a property with good reviews located in King of Prussia, PA was.

The lowest rate I could find came to $126.65. The grand total for our one night stay would come to $139.32. Not a bad deal for the short amount of time it took to enter the contest!

I want to thank Best Western for running the contest and our upcoming free stay in Pennsylvania!

Have you won a travel contest? If so, what did you win?
