Talk about a creepy find…

A couple was staying at an Airbnb property in Florida when they came across a hidden camera in the bedroom. The find prompted them to call the police.

Derek Starnes was staying at the Airbnb with his wife when he spotted the camera in the smoke detector. Yahoo mentions that, “He determined the camera was recording to an SD card and called the cops.”

When the police showed up, they looked around, taking various pieces of computer equipment. They also came across a second camera in the living room.

Starnes believes that the bedroom camera recorded him naked.

Landlord Wayne Natt was arrested and charged with one count of video voyeurism. It appears that Natt didn’t try to dispute the charges. He says that he’s recorded dozens of videos at the property with the people’s knowledge. Natt also claims to be a swinger.

Airbnb has since banned Natt from using the site.

Yahoo says that this isn’t the first time that people have been recorded. It happens so frequently that, “at the end of 2015, a software developer released a tool to help Airbnb guests spot hidden cameras that have a Wi-Fi connection.“

I wonder if this kind of news will make some think twice about staying at an Airbnb. What do you think?
