It seems that the thing to do with hit TV shows is host a pop-up!
There were pop-ups of AMC’s Breaking Bad restaurant Los Pollos Hermanos in a few cities back in April. A Saved By The Bell pop up was supposed to tour the country last year.
In a little over a week Washington, DC will be getting a Game of Thrones pop-up bar.
The Game of Thrones PUB (pop-up bar) will open on June 21, a few weeks before the season 7 premiere.
While I can’t say that I’ve ever seen the show, I have visited various sites (in Malta and Northern Ireland) which happened to have been featured in the show.
CN Traveler reports that there will be “3,000 square feet of themed rooms, including vivid scenes from the North, the Red Keep, Meereen, the House of Black and White, and the Throne Room (which will include an Iron Throne, naturally). The Red Keep features a real-life Armory, where visitors can take pictures with their house banner; the House of Black and White will have its own Hall of Faces, filled with plaster replicas of Drink Company employees, family, and friends (sounds haunting); and even Daenerys’ dragons will come to life, thanks to a local muralist.”
I really don’t know what any of these things are but the pop-up sounds like it will be an amazing experience for fans of the show.
The bar will serve drinks inspired by the show including the show’s official beer by Ommegang (one of my favorite breweries), which will be served on tap.
The Game of Thrones pop-up will be open until August 27, seven days a week.
