Last summer NYC got an interesting Magnum Bar Ice Cream pop-up. (Check out my review about the Magnum pop-up here.)
In June 2016 I wrote about a Kellogg’s Cereal Restaurant set to open in the city. The restaurant opened in July and has seemed to do well. For a limited time, Pop Tarts will be joining in on the fun.
The Kellogg’s Cereal Restaurant will transform into a Pop Tarts Cafe for one week starting today.
Eater reports that “Kellogg’s will transform from its signature red into a Pop Tarts blue space“.
The takeover takes place from Tuesday, February 21 through Sunday the 26th.
I can’t imagine what kind of spin on the Pop Tart could happen in a dedicated, pop-up restaurant but here’s what can be expected.
There will be “a menu of tacos, burritos, pizza, cheesecake, milkshakes, and nachos“. The items will be made from around 25 flavors.
Eater shares an example of $9 nachos. Confetti Cupcake Pop Tarts cut up to be chips with strawberry salsa on top with frosting and sprinkles. The article mentions how it will “look like nachos but taste like birthday“.
I don’t know about you, but this really doesn’t sound tasty or appealing to me. What do you think?
