Times Square is an area in NYC that I try my best to avoid.

With an abundance of bright lights and costume characters, there’s also no shortage of mega-stores like M&Ms World, Hershey’s Chocolate World, Disney Store, a giant Toys R Us with a ferris wheel inside.

Food options aren’t great in the area and I’d recommend trying the amazing onion soup burger at Le Rivage which is a short walk away.

If you’re a fan of breakfast, specifically cereal and you’ll be near Times Square you’ll soon have an interesting place to dine.

A Kellogg’s cereal restaurant is set to open in early July!

Kellogg’s will be partnering with the chef and founder of Milk Bar, Christina Tosi and Anthony Rudolph, the former GM of Per Se to bring us Kellogg’s NYC.

The new cereal bar is set to open on July 4 and will have limited hours the first week, however soon after it will be open, pretty much all day from 7 AM – 11 PM.

Eater reports that “The menu includes five cereal bowls ($7.50 for large; $6.50 for small) which all incorporate Kellogg’s brand cereals as the base, plus fruit, nuts, herbs, and various powders and seasonings. Guests can also build their own cereal bowls from the lists of available options. Cereal sundaes made with Blue Marble soft serve are also available, plus coffee and tea. The coffee supplier will change frequently, but the team is opening with beans from Irving Farm“.

The setup of the restaurant sounds really interesting. You’ll order with a person and then receive a buzzer to get alerted when your order is ready as well as which cabinet to get it from.

The cabinet will contain your order as well as some sort of little gift. Gifts can range from a cereal box toy to a piece of fruit to Hamilton tickets…

This sounds pretty cool and like an expanded and permanent concept similar to the Kellogg’s Cereal Bar which we tried out at the Taste Talks Food & Drink Festival last year.

Are you interested in trying out the Kellogg’s NY cereal restaurant? I’m definitely curious and would like to check it out.
