With the new year fast approaching, Southwest Airlines has to update the Rapid Rewards member status and reset the tier and Companion Pass earning counter for 2016.

Due to this, we wont be able to view our 2016 tier and Companion Status online starting January 1, 2016.

It doesn’t clearly state how long the updates should take but Southwest does mention that most members should have access to this info again within a few days.

During the maintenance period you will be unable to see tier and Companion Status at Southwest.com, on the Southwest app or through the automated phone system.

When you check out your account online or in the mobile app, you’ll see a tier status pending alert.

Although you won’t see any points being earned and progress being made during this time, don’t worry. Points being earned will be visible when the online maintenance is completed.
