Kim, Lucas and I have enjoyed staying at some Airbnb properties over the years. Our first time using the service was back in 2012 when Lucas was around 7.5 months old. (Check out my review of the stay here.)
What I also like about Airbnb are all of the different kinds of places you can stay!ย There are many unique Airbnb options, like igloosย and tents. You can also spend a night in celebrity homes, castles, yurts or pubs.
Earlier in the year I thought that Kim may have come across the most artsy and unique Airbnb property. While that property may just be the most artsy, I think that Kim may have just sent me an article about the most unique (or odd or smallest) Airbnb property!
If you’re looking to visit NYC and need a cheap place to stay, you’ll probably be out of luck. Hotels are pretty pricey and it isn’t so easy to stay on the cheap. How would you like to stay in NYC for just $39 per night?
Well now you can but it’s going to be in a pretty tight space. For $39 per night you can stay in the back of an NYC Taxi van! Yes you read that correctly…
If you choose to stay in the taxi, the van will be parked in Long Island City which is located in Queens, just a short train ride to Manhattan.
The back of the taxi comes with a “comfortable bed, soft pillows, sheets, and a portable wireless air conditioner,” according to the Airbnb listing.
Refinery29 mentions that those that have spent a night in the taxi have left glowing reviews so there’s no need to worry! The host, Jonathan even left a note with tips and instructions!
Would you pay to spend the night in the back of a taxi to save money during a visit to NYC? It does sound like an interesting idea but I’d love to know where you go to use the bathroom!
If you haven’t yet signed up for Airbnb, please consider using my invite link. You’ll receive a $25 Airbnb credit and I’ll receive a $25 credit once you complete a stay.
