While I’m not much of a drinker during flights, it’s still nice to have options.
Southwest Airlines offers a variety of free drinks like water, sodas, juices and some hot items. It’s been a while since I’ve flown with the airline, but I’m pretty sure they offer free snacks like peanuts or pretzels.
Southwest recently added a couple of new drink options to their flights and there are also a couple of upcoming dates where passengers of age can get a free (alcholic) drink!
Here are the new offerings & upcoming free drink dates:
I recently found out from Nuts About Southwest that there were two new alcoholic drink options during flights.
Tequila & Margarita Mix: Passengers can now purchase a margarita for the first time in over 10 years. If a margarita is your drink of choice, enjoy Sauza Gold Tequila and Mr & Mrs T Margarita Mix. The mix is free but the tequila will set you back $5.
Seasonal Beer: Although the offiial Oktoberfest festival just passed, Southwest introduced Leinenkugel’s Oktoberfest to flights on October 1. I don’t know about you, but I’d be interested trying this beer. Beers also cost $5 on flights.
While beer, wine and spirits all cost $5 each while flying with Southwest, if you’re flying on select holidays, you can enjoy a drink for free.
Two free drink dates are coming up, one this month, the other in November.
Enjoy a free drink on:
- October 31 for Halloween
- November 26 for Thanksgiving
What’s your choice of drink during a flight? I usually go with water or ginger ale.
