At the end of March I applied and was approved for the Wyndham Rewards Visa from Barclays Bank.
While Wyndham isn’t a brand that we typically stay at and the card didn’t come with an amazing sign up offer, I still decided to get it. I felt that the sign up bonus of 45,000 points would come in handy in the future. I could use the bonus points to book 3 free nights at any Wyndham hotel or spend 3,000 points and some cash (as another option) per night.
In the end I applied for the card since it isn’t one that I’ve previously had. Another reason was that it gave me another option to get points for a few free hotel nights.
I just received an offer from Barclays where I could earn 10,000 Wyndham Rewards bonus points.
The offer reminded me of one that I received a couple of years back for my US Airways Mastercard.
Earning the bonus is relatively easy:
All I have to do is use my Wyndham credit card and spend $250 or more each month in August, September and October. (The bonus is in addition to points regularly earned for using the card.)
Since earning my bonus, the Wyndham card has sat in a pile with some of my other cards. I now have to make a decision as to whether or not I wanted to try to earn the bonus points.
If I go for this offer, I’ll earn a minimum of 10,750 points (bonus & regular spend combined). This would leave me needing around 200 additional points to earn another free night award.
Since I’ll be finishing the minimum spend on my newest credit card on Monday, I think I’ll try to fulfill the spend required to earn the bonus points.
Some Rules:
- Offer is only valid for selected card members & is not transferable.
- If you fail to spend $250 in any of the three months, you won’t get any bonus points.
- Bonus points will show up in the account 6-8 weeks after end of promo
Were you targeted for this offer? If so, do you plan to try to earn the 10,000 points bonus?
In the end this is a pretty solid bonus offer which will earn me close to another free night for a minimal amount of spend.
Got this offer for November, December, and January! Pretty easy to do!
AlohaDaveKennedy- Awesome!
Got it!
Eric- I’m not sure of any way to find out unless you receive a mailer or an e-mail from Barclays. Good luck!
Any easy way to check to see if you were targeted?
