In the middle of January I wrote that Anthony Bourdain’s food hall, Bourdain Market would be opening in NYC at some point in 2015.
Over the past few months there have been some details about what we should expect at the market which you can read about on Eater here.
One of the most important details about the market has been a big unknown all along- where will the market be located???
Well now the details on the location of Bourdain Market are out but an opening date still hasn’t been set.
Bourdain Market will be located at Pier 57 and Hudson River Park according to Gothamist.
Negotiations are under way for a 100,000 square-foot space inside the “SuperPier“. The market would take up just about all of the retail space inside the building.
One of the market’s neighbors will be Google which is negotiating on a 250,000 square-foot space.
I’m a big fan of food markets and loved visiting and trying out lots of different food at hawker centers in Singapore. Since Bourdain Market is supposed to be modeled after those hawker centers, I’m definitely excited to see how this ambitious project turns out. Are you?
