United MileagePlus Dining sent me a bonus offer where I can earn 7,500 miles for doing lots of dining from now until most of next month.
To earn the bonus, I’d have to dine out 10 times with MileagePlus Dining restaurants and bars. This is definitely not an easy thing to do…
I’ve seen this kind of bonus a bunch of times in the past. Most recently, United offered me 10,000 bonus miles to dine out 10 times. This was over the summer. Delta SkyMiles Dining offered me something along the same lines last month.
Both times I didn’t bother going for the bonus and I won’t be doing so this time either.
Here is how the offer works:
- I’d need to register for the bonus offer
- Dine out 10 times before 12/20, spending $40 or more each time
- Review each restaurant or bar that I dined out within 30 days
- For doing those 3 things, I’d earn a 7,500 mile bonus
I’ve said it in the past and I’ll say it again, finding 10 restaurants that I really want to eat at which participate in the dining program is not easy. There might be 2-3 that I’d try but I wouldn’t want to dine at each of them a handful of times in such a short period of time.
Besides the issue stated above, I don’t thing that it’s really worth spending $400+ dining out to earn 7,500 miles. That’s a lot of pricey meals in a short amount of time.
