Last week, Loki partnered up with McDonald’s to travel back in time to 1982.
The partnership with the Disney+ show comes a month before the season 2 premier of Loki which comes out on October 6, 2023.
Even thought we haven’t seen Loki, I was very curious to check out this special McD’s and it also happened to be relatively close to home.
The McDonald’s at 6620 Bay Parkway in Brooklyn, New York was transformed for three days.
When we arrived, there was a short line outside with red velvet ropes to wait by. Once we stepped inside, we were really impressed.Although we ordered through one of the self service machines, the menu over the registers was transformed to look as it did in 1982.There were incredible retro posters hanging all around the restaurant. Here are a few of my faves. I would’ve loved to take one home as a souvenir!Officer Big Mac and Birder the Early Bird also made an appearance! The employees and actors were dressed up in vintage McDonald’s uniforms and Loki costumes. I asked if the McD’s uniform shirts were for sale, sadly they weren’t. lolOne cabinet had some Loki set props. I haven’t seen the show so I didn’t know what they were but it was still pretty cool that they were on display at the restaurant.Loki-branded Sweet ‘N Sour Sauce was given out. I read that they had an AR feature. Scan the lid on Snapchat to check out new animated videos weekly. Before we left, we had to take a photo with the Golden Arches at this vintage McD’s wall.
Overall, stepping back in time to 1982 at this McDonald’s was an awesome time!
