Delta Air Lines has suspended codesharing with fellow SkyTeam member Aeroflot.

Delta, the top ranked US airline made the move with Aeroflot due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

With the suspension, Delta and Aeroflot customers can no longer book flights on both airlines.

Delta has also said that they would make accommodations for customers affected by the changes.

This isn’t the only bad news for Russia’s national carrier.

Late last week, Britain banned Aeroflot from flying into the country. Baltic countries like Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania have also closed their airspace to Russian airlines.

The President of European Union Ursula von der Leyen tweeted, “we are shutting down the EU airspace for Russian-owned, Russian registered or Russian-controlled aircraft.   They won’t be able to land in, take off or overfly the territory of the EU. Including the private jets of oligarchs.”
