I’ve heard stories from Uber drivers of long drives they did for customers. However, I didn’t know if there was a rule regarding how far they could go.
Business Insider for Yahoo says, “There isn’t a distance limit for Uber rides, but there is a time limit.”
According to the article, Business Insider says that ride share company has instituted a four hour time limit for trips. The company does not have a rule though regarding how far your ride’s distance can be.
Uber drivers can take passengers between cities and states but some markets require drivers to have special licenses. This rule can stop some drivers from doing business in those areas.
When requesting a long Uber ride, they ask passengers to connect with the driver to make sure that the long ride is OK for the driver. I’ve often wondered how an Uber driver makes much profit if they pickup someone for a long ride but then can’t find a job for the way home!
For passengers out there looking to go a long distance, here’s what you need to do. When your first long ride, capped at 4 hours ends, you can just request another ride to keep going!
