Chef, author and globetrotting TV star Anthony Bourdain tragically died a little over a year back. Since then, his NYC apartment was put up for sale.
A couple of days back, Kim sent me an article stating that some of Anthony Bourdain’s possessions would soon be auctioned off.
According to the New York Times, the items “will be sold in an online auction in October.”
The auction will include 215 lots of items which have a market value in the range of $200,000 to $400,000 according to auctioneer Lark Mason.
While I assumed that the money raised by the auction would go to Bourdain’s young daughter, it turns out that 60% of the proceeds will go to his wife Ottavia Busia and his daughter Ariane.
The remaining 40% of the money will be donated to a recently created Anthony Bourdain Legacy Scholarship at the Culinary Institute of America.
Items up for sale include a knife created for Bourdain, art, books, records and manuscripts. One of the most interesting items up for sale is a desk where the late author and traveler did his writing.
Would you be interested in owning one of Anthony Bourdain’s items? I’d think that it would definitely be an interesting conversation piece.
