I recently used my Marriott 25,0000 points free night on a one night stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Philadelphia Downtown/ Center City.
We didn’t know what to expect but we were impressed from the moment we arrived when we were given a special treat. The reception area was quite impressive and if I didn’t know better, I’d say it could’ve belonged in a Kimpton property.A seating area to the left of reception further reinforced that sentiment. We loved the funky style decorated with Hunt Slonem bunny portraits. The bunny portraits continued up to the floor of our room, bringing a smile to all of our faces, especially the kids. Great design & decorating choice Fairfield!
With such a fun style, we hoped the rooms also fit this theme. When we opened the door to our room, the first thing we saw was a very stylish bathroom. Right above the toilet was hung more fun bunny art! (More on the bathroom later in the post.)When you look to your right, there are two queen-size beds. One thing I noticed right away was that the space in front of the beds was on the tight side. Here’s a look at the room from the opposite side. Lucas is holding open the door to the room and the other door along the wall with the TV is the bathroom.Besides having some bunny art in the room, it’s also stylishly decorated with interesting colors. The kids decided to test out the bed. The beds may’ve been more of a full than a queen. We found them to be a bit to the softer side. I prefer a more firm mattress, everyone else found them to be very comfortable.Across from the bed which is further in the room, is a small work space and storage area. There’s a desk with a comfortable chair. Along the side of the desk was a bunch of outlets which was nice. The wardrobe had a microwave and coffee machine. I liked the higher shelf which was great for hiding things from Theo.
The mirrored door opens up and has a bar to hang your clothes on.The bathroom felt very stylish. It was also huge, my photos don’t do it any justice. The shower space was also very roomy and we really liked the shower-head. My one complaint regarding the bathroom was that we would’ve liked a handheld shower head, too.
Final Thoughts:
Overall we had a really nice stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Philadelphia Downtown/ City Center. The included breakfast got the job done but was pretty typical for a free hotel option.
Based on the style, we were really impressed with this property. The staff was really friendly, too. The welcome brownie was a nice touch and the kids were offered more while we were checking out.
We don’t have much to go on but based on images I’ve seen online, Fairfield Inn properties tend to look cookie cutter and nothing overly exciting. This property definitely stood out.
Fairfield Inn & Suites Philadelphia Downtown/Center City is located at 261 South 13th Street.
Chris- The area was interesting… 🙂
This hotel is a block from my house. The funny thing is it used to be a disgusting boarding house that was filled with drug addicts. Looks like they did a great job renovating it.
