When visiting different countries, you have to be very careful with what you eat and drink.
The things you ingest can definitely mess with your insides, causing Travelers Diarrhea. (Yes, I’m sure you have an awesome picture in your mind of this…)
It’s safe to say, that anyone who’s traveled a bit has been affected by this at one point or another during a trip.
T+L says that “the condition may no longer need to put your travel plans on pause“.
A new drug was recently approved by the FDA which could quickly cure you of the not so comfortable symptoms of Traveler Diarrhea.
The new drug, Aemcolo is an antibacterial which will help you get rid of the symptoms of Traveler’s Diarrhea brought on by E. Coli. It is expected to be available in the US in February 2019.
The pill doesn’t work like magic. It needs to be taken orally for 3-4 days to help with the symptoms.
I found it interesting that the company who created Aemcolo mentioned that their product is the first antibiotic approved by the FDA to treat Traveler’s Diarrhea in “over a decade“.
When we go on a trip, we make sure to pack meds including Cipro and Pepto, just to name a few. Maybe Aemcolo should be added as another option once it becomes available.
Are there any particular meds that you bring along on trips?

Now if it got approved by the FDA better watch out. FDA is in bed with the health industry so this is likely something that best case does not do much but is highly profitable, worst case gets you in more serious trouble so u need to pop additional drugs.
