Passengers on an American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Dallas- Fort Worth had a difficult journey a couple of days back.
Severe thunderstorms caused the flight to divert to a regional airport in Wichita Falls, Texas. The 159 passengers on the plane faced being stuck there until the next day.
I’m guessing that the passengers must’ve been tired, hungry and frustrated due to the inconvenience.
American Airlines pilot Jeff Raines did what he could to help the situation out by having 40 pizzas from Papa John’s delivered to the airport!
A video shared on Twitter shows Pilot Raines running back and forth, bringing pizzas to the stranded passengers. You can also hear some of the appreciative passengers saying “what a guy”.
The pilot, not wanting to take all of the credit said that it was a team effort. “My First Officer was on the telephone with crew tracking / hotel desk arranging for our release and hotels for the entire crew. The Flight Attendants manned a galley cart from the aircraft serving waters, juice, and sodas to all the passengers in the terminal. All while the Envoy SPS Personnel were arranging for a bus, re-booking flights, and answering a flurry of questions from these passengers. Thanks to everyone for your help – there is no “I” in TEAM.”
It sounds like the pilot and crew really worked their hardest to make a crappy situation a bit more comfortable for the stranded passengers.
Nice job American Airlines!
