IHG added Kimpton Hotels to their stable of hotel brands and now we can book stays with our IHG points. This might be an appealing option in the future but one I haven’t paid much thought to as of yet.
I recently received an e-mail from IHG with an interesting bonus offer where I can earn 10,000 bonus points with my next Kimpton Hotels stay.
To earn the bonus, I need to complete a stay of at least one night from now until April 30.
While I’d love to earn 10,000 bonus points, a Kimpton stay doesn’t seem to align with trips we’ll be taking during the promo period. And with Kimpton Hotels being pretty pricey, it certainly isn’t worth booking an unnecessary stay just to earn the bonus.
Some Rules: (from the T&Cs)
- Must be an IHG® Rewards Club member and must register your member number in advance to participate in this Offer
- Number of bonus points listed above will be awarded after your Qualifying Stay at any Kimpton® hotel, which must be completed between 1 February 2018 and 30 April 2018.
- A Stay is defined per IHG Rewards Club Membership Terms and Conditions as one night or consecutive nights at the same hotel
- Allow 6 to 8 weeks for the bonus points to be posted into your account.
I thought that this was a targeted offer at first but couldn’t find any language stating that it was (in the e-mail I received from IHG). The e-mail did mention though that it was part of the Accelerate bonus. When I logged into the Accelerate bonus page, I didn’t see any mention of this additional offer.
Did anyone else receive this offer or something similar? Is a 10,000 bonus points offer enough to entice you to book a Kimpton Hotels stay?
Received the email but as with others there is no addition to the Accelerate tasks to reflect this (like the supplementary “Stay in January…” task showed), nor do I recall a registration requirement or link. And this doesn’t show on my Offers list. As for costly Kimpton properties, I just booked the Allegro in Chicago at $81 a night and several others were under $120 a night in late February early March.
Neither of us, with 2 wildly different Accelerate offers, got the 10k Kimpton offer
Enjoy Fine Food- The Kimpton 10K offer doesn’t show on my Accelerate page but I received the e-mail about it. I couldn’t find any language in the terms stating that it was a targeted offer.
