It was one man’s lucky day at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, France…
T+L is reporting that a homeless man left the airport with €300,000, which is close to $355,000 U.S. dollars.
The man was recognized by the police as part of the homeless population who slept in an area close to the airport. The man was looking through the trash and then came to the door of Loomis, a cash management company in Terminal 2F.
When the man leaned on the door, he noticed that it was not locked so he went inside. Soon after, he left with two bags of cash.
The police are looking for the man but they don’t actually know who he is. T+L mentions that he left behind a suitcase but it didn’t contain any clues as to who he is.
When I first read the headline of the article, “A Homeless Man Walked Out of an Airport With $345K in Cash“, I assumed that maybe it was some sort of holiday feel good story not a theft!
I also can’t say that it makes sense for a company to leaves bags of cash worth over $350,000 just sitting out! Did someone forget to put the small fortune away?

Loomis? You must be kidding!
