JetBlue seem to be pretty involved in sports. They’re the official airline of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, New England Patriots, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Clippers and New York Jets. I’d assume that there are also some partnerships that I’ve left out.
One of the cooler parts of JetBlue being the “official airline” of a team are the cool liveries that come out.
I received a press release from JetBlue yesterday about, “a refreshed and updated special livery dedicated to the New York Jets.”
JetBlue first became the official airline of the New York Jets back in 2009. A year later, a special aircraft named “JetGreen” debuted, becoming “the first sports themed aircraft to join JetBlue’s growing fleet.”
The new JetBlue- New York Jets plane, an Airbus A320 was first shown at the JetBlue hangar at JFK Airport. The tailgate themed event featured both current and former Jets players. New York Jets executives were also there to celebrate.
The press release also mentions that, “Jets Flight Crew Cheerleaders were also on-hand to meet Jets season ticket holders, JetBlue crewmembers and customers and players and coaches from a local youth football team.”
Besides revealing the new plane, the Harlem Jets youth football team was surprised by Jetblue, receiving a $10,000 donation to continue working with young football players in the city.
I think the new JetBlue New York Jets livery is pretty awesome, what do you think?
