A Star Wars star went into cardiac arrest while flying from London to Los Angeles earlier today.
60-year-old actress Carrie Fisher, best known for her role as Princess Leia is now in critical condition. The actress fell ill around 15 minutes before United Flight 935 was supposed to land.
LAX airport police responded at 12:15 PM to a medical emergency regarding a woman on a plane at Terminal 7 but the identity of the person wasn’t yet known to be the Star Wars actress.
When the airport police arrived, the LA Country Fire Department were already performing CPR. They were waiting for the plane to land “and immediately provided advanced life support, aggressively treated the patient,” according to Yahoo News. She was then brought to the hospital to be treated.
Other passengers on the flight posted about what took place on social media. One wrote how Carrie Fisher stopped breathing on the flight. Another passenger sitting right in front of her was in complete shock.
Hopefully, Fisher pulls through this and like they say in the Star Wars movies, May the Force Be With You (Her).
