$14.5 Million Private Islands Aren’t Just For Movie Stars

Johnny Depp recently bought his very own Greek island. A few months back I wrote about how Leonardo DiCaprio was Opening an Eco-Reesort on a private island.

Wouldn’t it be nice if the average Joe could afford to buy their very own private islands? Well you’d be (kinda) surprised to learn who recently just did.

A former high school math teacher recently bought a private island in Florida at a cost of $14.5 million.

Little Bokeelia Island sounds pretty amazing. It’s 104 acres and has a 6,400+ square-foot, 4 bedroom, 5 bath Spanish-style villa as well as a “a mini-village with bungalows for guests, numerous ports and beaches, a tennis court, and a pool with lagoon” according to Yahoo.

The thing is that the former math teacher, Mark Pentecost didn’t purchase the island on a teacher’s salary.

Pentecost wanted to earn $500 more per month while teaching. He became very successful doing direct sales. He eventually founded his own company, It Works- selling slimming body wraps for people to wear under their clothes. Currently the company also sells skin care and nutrition products. Sales last year reached over $450 million!

The plans for Little Bokeelia are interesting. Pentecost plans to spend some weekends there with his wife and three kids but the island’s main purpose will be to use it as a corporate retreat for his employees and business partners. Very cool…

I doubt Mr. Pentecost is reading this but if you are, if you’d like for me to come for a weekend to write a review of the island, please let me know! πŸ™‚
