Parent’s Magazine and online auto resource Edmunds.com just released their 8th annual 10 Best Family Cars List.
If you’re in the market for a new car (or are just a little curious) and have a family you’ll want to see which vehicles made the cut. I know that I’m curious to find out, especially since my car lease is up in just a little over two weeks.
According to the article, this is the eighth year in a row that “car and parenting experts partnered to evaluate hundreds of vehicles, narrowing down the list to the safest, most family-friendly vehicles on the road“. It makes me feel safer already just reading about the list…
The cars which made the top 10 are listed from a variety of categories so your bound to find a car that fits your family’s needs.
Here is the Top 10:
- Budget– Mazda 3 & Honda Fit
- High-Mileage– Volkswagen Golf TDI
- Sedans– Hyundai Sonata & Honda Accord
- Wagon– Subaru Outback
- Crossovers– Honda CR-V & Nissan Murano
- Mini-Van– Toyota Sienna
- SUVs– Chevy Traverse
Parents and Edmunds were happy to see the “proactive safety systems” which are now standard in many of the cars. Some things that could help to keep your family safe are “additional airbags, backup cameras, Hill Start Assist systems, and Bluetooth link availability“.
Are you interested in any of the cars that made up this list? There are two that stand out for me. I’ve taken a look at the Subaru Outback in the past. It seems like a very nice car but is probably not my style. The Chevy Traverse also looks solid but it’s probably a bit larger than Kim, Lucas and I need.
“The 10 Best Family Cars of 2015” appears in the July issue of Parents magazine as well as online here.
