I’ve heard of destination weddings but this couple’s wedding journey has to top them all…
After getting engaged, a couple couldn’t decide on a specific theme or idea for their wedding so they came up with a pretty crazy idea.
Rather than choose, they decided on having 38 weddings in 83 days!
The couple, Cheetah Platt and Rhiann Woodyard are almost done with their 3 month wedding trip around the world.
According to Buzzfeed, “Through budgeting and research, the couple said they were able to find ‘round-the-world flights landing in 11 countries for less than $3,000 per person“.
The couple “are both professional aerial and pole art performers” and met in 2013 at a “partner meetup for people who practice aerial, acro, and pole arts“.
They’ll be performing the ceremonies on their own during their journey. The couple both got ordained from the Church of Spiritual Humanism online. However, when they get home a family member will officiate a ceremony and will get the proper papers in for the marriage to be legally recognized in California.
They’ve already been to some great places- Colombia, Spain, Ireland, Kenya, Egypt, Morocco, India, and Thailand.
Platt and Woodyard are wearing white during their whole trip except when going on safari. They are also wearing the same outfits during each wedding ceremony.
The wedding ceremonies won’t be end once they get back to the US. They plan to take a motorcycle trip to have “ceremonies in national parks in the West and at one ceremony their whole family will be present“.
