I received an e-mail from my friend Kim K. a couple of weeks back about a contest that she felt would be of interest here.
This contest seems to be like no other that I’ve ever come across and it sounds pretty cool.
MyMiniFactory is running the Scan The World contest and would like to send you anywhere in the world that you’d like to go.
However, there is one catch. The winner will have to take lots of photos of sculptures, statues and moments wherever you decide to go. (That really doesn’t sound so bad!)
MyMiniFactory is “in the business of 3D printing” according to Thrillist.
They “want to recreate statues and monuments from all around the world, and they need your help to scan ’em”.
This sounds pretty amazing. Imagine your photo being brought to life as 3D miniature!
The Prize:
- Money to travel to the destination of your choice
For every usable scan that is submitted, you will be sent the final 3D printed object for free.
How to enter:
- Read their how to scan guide
- Scan a sculpture of your choice
- Write 200 words telling them where you want to go and what sculptures you’d like to scan
The deadline is October 31, 2014.
