A tourist recently fell off of a 75 meter cliff in Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia and was lucky to survive.
The tourist fell while trying to take a selfie and now the Croatian Mountain Rescue Services has some advice for tourists.
T+L mentions that in “a series of tweets “the Croatian Mountain Rescue Services are “warning tourists against doing stupid things on vacation“.
In one tweet the HGSS said “Dear tourists, we respect you. It’s time for you to start respecting yourself. So, stop making stupid and dangerous selfies. Thank you #HGSS“
The HGSS also wants you to hold off on posting to social media if you come across an accident. They tweeted, “Dear tourists, if you come across accident or you’re part of it in #Croatia call #112 b4 posting abt. it on social media. Thank you #HGSS“.
And now with the Pokemon Go craze going on (I can’t say that I even know what it is.), the HGSS has a message for tourists about that too.
Here is the tweet:
It seems as though the Croatia Mountain Rescue Services is sharing some great advice for tourists… Or is it just common sense?
What do you think?
Dave- I totally agree! (It’s also pretty funny!)
I like the straightforward warning & not worrying about being inappropriate/impolite/offensive. stupid is stupid, I am so tired of the hypocritical mindset of people in us that treating everybody like a 3 yr old, cannot saying direct in their face, only behind their backs.
