Airbnb rental options can vary greatly. You might stay in a room in someone’s home or apartment or have the whole place to yourself. (Find out our awesome experience during our first stay using Airbnb in Singapore a few years back.)
There are many unique Airbnb options, like igloos and tents. You can also spend a night in celebrity homes, castles, yurts or pubs.
Kim just sent me an article to what is possibly the most artsy and unique Airbnb ever!
The Art Institute of Chicago recently listed a life-size replica of Van Gogh’s “Bedroom” painting in the city’s River North neighborhood on Airbnb.
The listing is a very interesting marketing campaign to coincide with an exhibit at the museum of Van Gogh’s Bedrooms, which runs from February 14 through May 16.
Chicagoist mentions that the listings says “This room will make you feel like you’re living in a painting… It’s decorated in a Post-Impressionist style, reminiscent of Southern France and times gone by. Its furniture, bright colors, and artwork will give you the experience of a lifetime.”
The rental will also cost a bargain price of just $10 for a night for up to two people. What makes the offer even sweeter is that the rental comes with tickets to the exhibition. (General admission at the Art Institute of Chicago goes for $14 per person .)
(Imagine, Beyonce paid $10,000 for an Airbnb after the Super Bowl.)
The listing is being ran by Vincent himself!
While I’m not much of an art fan I’d consider the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam to be one of my favorites in the world. If I was going to be in Chicago in the near future, I’d definitely try to book the Bedroom.
No dates were available for February and Chicagoist mentions that more dates will be added soon.
If you haven’t yet signed up for Airbnb, please consider using my invite link. You’ll receive a $20 Airbnb credit and I’ll receive a $20 credit once your travel.
