After enjoying our time around Nyaungshwe & during our Sunset Tour of Inle Lake, we were looking forward to checking out the lake during the day.
We got up relatively early to beat the heat for our Day Tour on Inle Lake.

After having a nice visit to Mandalay during our trip to Myanmar, it was time to move on to our next destination.
Our next stop was one that we really debated quite a bit about visiting. After much thought and reading, Kim and I decided that we couldn’t visit Myanmar and skip Inle Lake.
We’ve been to some other spectacular lakes around the world (Lake Titicaca in Peru, Lake Atitlan in Guatemala) so we needed to see what the famous Inle was like.

While we were putting together the itinerary for our trip to Myanmar there was some important decisions to make.
Our flight arrived in Mandalay Myanmar, the country’s second largest city but many would consider it one which is passable. We had to decide- should be stay for a couple of days or immediately head off to one of the other areas we planned to visit during our trip?
It was a tough call, but Kim and I both agreed that a visit to Mandalay did sound like a good idea- more so to visit some other areas (which were ancient capitals) close by.

Kim, Lucas and I got back from our trip to Myanmar (Burma) earlier in the week.
This trip felt like a real adventure. Maybe it was partly due to Lucas telling us he wanted to go discover more while we wandered and climbed around temple ruins and other sites around the country!

With our spring break finally here, (we’re leaving a couple of days early) it’s time to head off on one of our bigger trips of the year. I’d also consider it one of our more ambitious destinations to visit with a toddler.
