Most people who live in New York City don’t have the good fortune of having backyards.

However, a new option will be opening up later in the year. TimeOut New York reports that, “Rentable mini backyards will soon pop up at The Lawn Club in downtown NY.”

The Lawn Club will be located inside the Fullerton Market Building in the Seaport District.

The space will be pretty big at 20,000 square feet and half of it will be covered in synthetic grass. A lounge area will offer a variety of lawn games like croquet, cornhole and bocce. The rest of the club will have individual turf courts.

The space plans to also offer league nights for various games and “tailgate packages during popular TV sporting events“.

While the space will have mini “backyards”, most of the activities will actually take place indoors. During the summer months, they expect things to continue outside to the sidewalks right outside the building.

The Lawn Club sounds like a fun space that I’d like to check out with my family when it opens!
