In a couple of weeks, the TWA Hotel at JFK Airport will be adding a new winter activity which should appeal to aviation buffs and those just looking to have some fun.
The hotel will debut their Runway Rink where “visitors and guests can take a spin on the tarmac around the hotel’s 1958 Lockheed Constellation Connie airplane (now a cocktail lounge) and then watch an ice skating spectacular!”
The Runway Rink will open on November 30 and be open daily through the end of February.
The cost to skate at the TWA Hotel isn’t cheap but it is reasonably priced. Admission is $15, $10 for kids under 12 years old. If you don’t have your own skates, you can rent them out for $10, kids under 12 will cost $8.
I noticed that skating aids are available for kids. I’d love to give ice skating a try at the Runway Rink but I’m not a skater. If I could use a skating aid, I’d be much more inclined to give it a try!
At the rink you’ll be able to purchase TWA’s winter accessories to stay warm. Snacks and beverages will also be available.
Here are the hours the rink will be open:I’d love to stop by the TWA Hotel to check out the new rink as well as the hotel itself. The last time I was inside the building was before it was renovated when I visited the TWA Flight Center during Open House New York.
