My birthday is coming up at the end of this month and we’ll be heading off on our winter break trip the following day. (I guess I could say the trip is my present!)

Last year, IHG sent me a birthday bonus offer which I couldn’t use. I don’t know if I’ll get another off again but Hertz just sent me something.

Hertz wants me to count the points, not the candles thanks to a special birthday bonus.

With the offer, I’m being given 275 Hertz Gold Plus Rewards bonus points to use on my next rental.

While this isn’t a ton of extra points, it could cover half the cost of a one day weekend rental. When you look at it that way, it doesn’t really sound bad.

The problem for me is that my next rental needs to be completed by January 3, 2019.

During our winter break trip, we’ll be heading to France and Monaco. While we’re away, we won’t be needing a rental car so I won’t be able to take advantage of this offer.

I guess it’s nice that Hertz acknowledged my special day, too bad I won’t be able to earn it.
