Over the summer I received a very nice bonus offer from my Wyndham credit card. With the offer I could earn 10,000 bonus points.
There’s also been other offers to earn 2 bonus points/ $1 spent in eligible categories and another (not credit card related) where you could earn 15,000 bonus points for a 2 night stay. That’s enough points for a free night!
I recently received another offer which I found to be a bit odd and not so lucrative…
With this current offer, I could earn 3 points for every $1 spent on purchases of $25 or less through December 31, 2015.
So basically, if you’re looking to make a big purchase, this offer won’t help at all unless you have a store divide a purchase up into charges of $25 or less!
The point of the offer is to get you to put everyday spend on your Wyndham credit card. My guess is that they hope, you get used to using the card for all of your small purchases. This will then convince you to use it for larger purchases or basically use it all of the time.
This offer appears to be open to everyone that has the Wyndham credit card and does not seem to be a targeted offer. The terms state, “The “Wyndham Rewards Visa Everyday Spend Bonus Promotion” (the “Promotion”) is only available to Wyndham Reward Visa cardmembers (“Cardmembers”) and is not transferrable“.
So what do you think about this offer? It isn’t enough to convince me to use my Wyndham card for small spend but I guess a bonus offer is still better than nothing!

DJ- I think if you have a pricey property in mind then it can be good.
I’ve been debating starting to use this card for my everyday spend. 2 points per dollar (even without this bonus) is pretty good, considering the 15K redemption rate at all Wyndham hotels. I think that may be more lucrative than using my Starwood card that is only 1pt per dollar.
Have you received the 10k bonus from over the summer yet? I’m still waiting, though it did say it would take 6-8 weeks to credit, & I believe October was my final month.
