Anthony Bourdain is a very busy man and seems to be getting a bit busier by taking on another title, editor at large.
Bourdain hosts his popular CNN show Parts Unknown and has been making headlines with news of his upcoming food hall in New York City whose location was recently revealed.
The popular chef, author, TV host & food hall developer has now taken a financial stake (and new writing gig) with “travel journalism site” Roads & Kingdoms.
According to Grub Street, “Following a night of one too many — or just the right number — glasses of sake, veteran journalist and Roads & Kingdoms co-founder Matt Goulding sent Anthony Bourdain a drunken email about investing in his web magazine“.
What sounds like a crazy idea paid off. Bourdain responded right away and is “now an investing partner and editor-at-large in the online-media company“.
Talk about a crazy story and surprising way to get a very famous investor!
According to Roads & Kingdoms, they are “an independent journal of food, politics, travel and culture“.
Bourdain won’t just be a silent partner, he’ll be editing a new long-form section called Dispatched.
