I’ve never thought about pets climbing mountains but here is a story about Rupee, the first dog to ever climb Mount Everest.

Rupee was rescued by his owner, Joanne Lefson from a dump in Northern India. He was 8 months old and dying of starvation and dehydration.

She planned to climb Everest with her dog Oscar, who had traveled the world with her, but he died in January. Before the climb, Joanne, Rupee and a filmmaker traveled around India and Nepal.

After this amazing feat, Rupee is thought to be the first dog to ever climb Mount Everest!
