When I travel to new places I love checking out McDonald’s to see what local menu items might be offered.
McD’s also appeals to Lucas, mainly for the toy but it also offers a taste of home (we rarely eat there at home) if/ when you get tired of the local food.
Over the years, I’ve written about McDonalds in we visited in:
- Russia
- Japan
- Serbia
- Germany
- Romania
- USA (Mozzarella Sticks)
- Mexico
- Nicaragua
- Canada
- Poland
- Costa Rica
- Ireland
- South Korea
(I’ve also tried interesting items at McD’s at many other countries that I haven’t written about.)
Kim sent me an article about a very interesting menu item at McDonalds Hong Kong that I’d love to try. Hong Kong McCafe’s will now be serving mac ‘n cheese sandwiches!
The new sandwich will be prepared like a panini (pressed sandwich). Figure a grilled cheese sandwich but McDonalds Hong Kong will substitute the cheese with mac ‘n cheese.
Refinery 29 mentions that there will be “two different versions on the McCafé menu: the Bacon, Macaroni & Cheese Toastie and the Corn & Cheese Champignon Toastie.”
Lucas’s favorite food is mac ‘n cheese so I’m sure he’d love to give one of the sandwiches a try. I’d also like to, too bad we don’t have any plans to head back to Hong Kong!
Would you be interested in trying a mac ‘n cheese sandwich at McDonald’s Hong Kong?
