In early March I reported that the Radisson Blu Warwick in Philadelphia, PA would be leaving Club Carlson.
Philly is probably my favorite destination to visit if we want to drive somewhere for the weekend. The city has a lot to offer in terms of excellent museums, great food options and is also a fun place to visit with kids.
When it was announced that the Club Carlson 2nd night free benefit was ending last year, I made sure to book a couple of stays at the Radisson Blu Warwick. (One of which we’ve already completed.)
Many of us (myself included) wondered what would happen with future stays at the Warwick which were booked with points once the property officially left Club Carlson.
Would the stays be honored? I assumed yes and now there is a clear answer as to what happens to future reservations.
My next booking at the property isn’t until November 2016 so I figured I’d wait a bit before calling Club Carlson to look into the situation. Yesterday I received an e-mail with the subject: “NOTICE: Information about your reservation at Radisson Blu Warwick Hotel“.
I hoped that Club Carlson didn’t cancel my reservation and was happily surprised by the message.
Here are the two most important details of the e-mail:
- April 1- Radisson Blu Warwick will be come The Warwick Hotel Rittenhouse Square and will no longer be a part of Carlson Rezidor.
- Your upcoming Club CarlsonSM redemption reservation will still be honored.
For those of us with future reservations:
- If you need to make changes to your reservation, you’ll need to contact Club Carlson at 1-800-967-9182 at least two business days prior to arriving.
- Making any adjustments or cancellations directly with the hotel will result in the forfeiture of your points as the hotel can no longer access our systems.
In closing…
This e-mail overall was good news. Our points stays at The Warwick will be honored. (Not so surprising.) We also now have the information needed if any changes to the reservation need to be made.
Do you have an upcoming award stay booked at the Radisson Blu Warwick? If so, what do you plan to do with your time in Philly?
