Back in mid-January, Kim, Lucas and I headed to one of our favorite hotels, EVEN Hotels in Norwalk, CT. (Check out my review of the property here.)
We booked a stay at the hotel for a couple of reasons. There were a few fun things we wanted to do in Connecticut but more importantly Kim would be able to complete 5 of 6 offers to (hopefully) earn a nice chunk of bonus points from IHG’s Accelerate 2016.
Last year I earned 2 Free Nights + 40,000 points for $142 in the IHG Into the Nights promo. (We stayed one night at the same EVEN property mentioned above.)
When the Accelerate offers came out, mine was underwhelming and not really worth going out of my way to earn. When I checked Kim’s offer, I felt (combined with doing some things in CT) it was worth pursuing.
Kim had 6 offers with Accelerate, of which we completed 5 during our one night stay at the EVEN Hotels Norwalk.
Here is what Kim earned:

- Your Achievement Bonus: Complete 3 of the 6 offers above and earn (an additional) 31,500 bonus points (excluding the January Bonus Offer).
So how many points did Kim earn?
For our one night stay at EVEN Norwalk which cost $108.10, Kim earned:
- 45,000 Bonus points from Accelerate offers
- 541 points for paying with the IHG credit card
- 2,410 points for a Qualifying Stay. (I think 1,000 of these points are from booking the Bonus Point Package.)
The total amount of IHG points earned due to the say came to 47,951. Not bad at all for a one-night stay!

My offer seemed too good to be true: earn 1,000 points for one nights’ stay
Earn 30,000 points for a second nights’ stay, for a total of 31,000 points after completing two stays.
I had a short trip to AZ planned, so I switched two nights of hotel stays (separate locations) to two Holiday Inn Express locations. It cost me $220, but I was planning on spending that much anyway at the other hotels.
I have been credited with the (regular) points for the two nights, but have not yet received my bonus points. How long does it normally take for them to post?
