The Michael W Travels family loves shopping at Target. We find that the store offers tons of items at reasonable prices. Some of our favorite things to shop for include clothing (mostly for the kids), food, and products for our home.
While shopping at the store, I usually pay for my purchases with gift cards bought at Staples. I earn 5X points on purchases made at Staples (with my Chase Ink card) so the gift cards allow me to earn 5X points on Target purchases.
That’s another appealing reason to shop at the store!
I love earning points this way, but I also like saving cash.
For one day only, December 8, 2019, you can save 10% when purchasing Target gift cards!
With the offer you can make one purchase of up to $300. If you max out the offer, this will give you a savings of $30.
Some Rules:
- Discounted gift cards can be purchased today only- December 8
- Gift cards can be redeemed starting on Monday, December 9 at 10am CT
- The minimum purchase allowed is $10 (kinda pointless!)
- Offer valid for up to $300 in Target GiftCard purchases ($30 maximum discount) per household.
- Limit one transaction up to $300 in Target GiftCards on Target.com.
Here’s how the transaction looked while checking out through their app.
As you can see, I made the max gift card purchase allowed. I see no reason to turn down a free $30 to spend at the store. Kim is going to also try to purchase a gift card. This would really sweeten the deal.
While I don’t love carrying large balances of gift cards, for Target I don’t mind. We shop there frequently enough so we know we’ll make good use of the gift cards. I like that I don’t need to remember to bring the gift card with me as it is saved and can be used through the app. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve left gift cards at home, in the car, etc…
