I’ve mentioned in the past how we’ve enjoyed our stays with Airbnb in recent years. (Check out a review of our first Airbnb stay in Singapore here.)

However, what one group of friends found on the property of their rental would make just about anybody want to checkout ASAP.
A group of friends were partying at an Airbnb rental in the French town of Palaiseau when they made a gruesome discovery at the home’s garden.
The group found the decomposing body of a woman. According to Time, “the friends found a woman’s body “hunched in a dug-out area, her head against the ground, covered in branches and surrounded by wood stumps,” according to a police source quoted by Agence-France Presse (AFP)“.
The article goes on to mention that the body was dressed but there was no way to identify it due to it being found “far along in the decomposition process“.
What I don’t get is why the police are questioning the group that rented the home. Unless this was an extremely long-term rental, how could a group renting the home for a few days be involved in whatever happened to this woman?
What I’d also like to know is if Airbnb is giving them a refund for what they happened upon.
