I’m not one to pay for entertainment on flights but if you’re traveling with kids, Southwest’s newest inflight entertainment offerings might be good for you.
Now you’ll be able to view a variety of Disney movies on your device for a small price…
According to the blog Nuts About Southwest, “Titles available include classics like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and The Jungle Book, and even the newest sensations including Frozen, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, Muppets Most Wanted, and Monsters University“.
Disney movies are only available on WiFi enabled planes and cost $5 each. I don’t find that an overly high price to charge but I much prefer to buy some shows that we can own.
For those of you traveling with little ones, I don’t know how you fly, but we always come prepared and I’d suggest that you do too. Lucas has an iPad mini with lots of free apps & games on it as well as some cartoons that we’ve purchased for his enjoyment. When going on longer flights, we try to buy a couple of new shows to keep him occupied during a flight. (We also bring other things like toys, crayons, stickers and more…)
I don’t see us taking advantage of Southwest’s Disney offerings but it’s still a nice option to have.
For those of you not so familiar with Southwest, the airline offers Free Live TV which has 13 channels and up to 75 television episodes on-demand which can be watched on your own device. They also offer all-day WiFi access for a reasonable $8 per day.
To watch TV onboard you’ll need to download the Onboard Player app.
