One of my favorite TV shows in recent years has been AMC’s Breaking Bad.
The show takes place in Albuquerque, New Mexico and features fast-food restaurant Los Pollos Hermanos. (It’s also seen in the show’s spinoff series Better Call Saul.)
From what I recall, there was talk of Los Pollos Hermanos opening as a restaurant when the show ended. It turns out the restaurant has existed in the form of a pop-up recently.
The Los Pollos Hermanos pop-up has made appearances in Austin at SXSW and opened today in Los Angeles for a couple of days.
After LA, the next stop for the restaurant will be New York City! Los Pollos Hermanos will be opening April 9 & 10 at 243 Pearl Street.
You might be wondering what to expect at the pop up. I assumed that chicken had to be on the menu but Eater Austin reports that at the Austin pop up “rancheros plates, breakfast tacos, burritos, burgers, and other New Mexico dishes, was displayed behind the counter. Although fried chicken wasn’t on the menu, the pop-up served bags of curly fries, a cup of water, and three dipping sauces.”
We’ll be leaving for our spring break trip the day before opening or I’d try to stop by to check it out.
Are you a fan of Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul? If so, would you be interested in checking out a Los Pollos Hermanos pop-up?

Luke Vadar- I almost bought the t-shirt years ago but passed. A Gus look-alike, great idea!
Loved the series (Breaking Bad). I have a Los Pollos Hermanos hoodie, which would be fun to wear into a pop-up store. Any Gus look-alike managers would be the bomb.
