We decided to stay home this holiday weekend. With so much to do close to home in NYC, we kept very busy doing some things in Brooklyn and Queens. Even if you aren’t traveling to far-off destinations, you can still spend days exploring and feeling like you’re traveling!

Our next trip (flying) isn’t until July but I’m hoping to take a road trip once the school year is over. I’m also looking to book a couple of domestic flights to get some use from my Southwest Companion Pass.

How are your travel plans coming along? Continue reading Dine in Prison, Bourdain Dines w/ Obama, Cirque du Soleil, Airport Lines, Win A Lufthansa Duck, Woman Strips- Plane Returns & More- The Rehash!

Kim, Lucas and I spent this past weekend at the Radisson Martinique in NYC. This was booked almost a year back before the stay 2 benefit went away.

The room was small but nice and while I typically try to avoid the Herald Square area, the hotel is located on a great block in Korea Town. I could see staying here again if we have no other use for a free night certificate expiring in August.

I finished the important booking details for my next trip, coming up in less than a week! I’ll have a couple of posts about it this week. This should be a very interesting trip and experience! I’ve been busy finalizing plans for an upcoming trip and ran into some problems using my Club Carlson e-certificates. Have you booked your free nights from the Club Carlson credit card devaluation?

Besides working on hitting the required spend for a bonus on one of my new cards, there hasn’t been much going on in terms of earning miles and points. How has your week gone when it comes to miles, points and travel?

Now it’s time to take a look back at some of this past week’s posts in a recap that I like to call, The Rehash! Continue reading Canceling Award Flight To Fiji & Vanuatu, Lifetime British Airways Ban, JetBlue 500 Free Flights Giveaway, Air France & Crew Headscarf Probs & More- The Rehash

Air France will start flying to Tehran, Iran on April 17 but they’re having a bit of a disagreement with their crew.

The airline has said that female Air France crew should wear a headscarf while in Iran but some crew members do not want to. If they don’t follow the rules, they could be in for some trouble… Continue reading Air France Crew Told To Wear Headscarf in Iran, Don’t Want To, Can Opt Out

It’s been a quiet week around here in the world of miles, points and travel. The most exciting news was the press release that I received about the new JetBlue credit cards from Barclaycard.

There are three options. I’m definitely interested in two of the cards, a personal and business card each offering 30,000 points bonuses after spending $1,000 on purchases in the first 90 days. Will you be considering any of these new JetBlue cards? Google wants to help us plan trips from our mobile devices.

According to the official Google Blog, they noticed “a whopping 50 percent increase in travel-related questions on mobile phones“. I’ve done lots of travel searches from my iPhone but I haven’t done a whole lot of bookings. (I think I booked one hotel night that I can recall.)

Now they want to make it easier to book travel through mobile with Google Destinations. Continue reading Plan Trips from Mobile with Google Destinations Feature
