Cirque du Soleil offers some of the most exciting, high- flying shows out there and they’re quite popular for good reason.

Kim and I have probably seen around 5-6 of their shows. The last one we saw was Cirque du Soleil Paramour on Broadway in May 2016.

Performers in Cirque du Soleil shows are immensely talented. They take big risks flying high in the air to entertain during the shows.

Tragedy struck during a performance of the Cirque show “Volta” in Tampa, Florida yesterday, March 17. Aerialist Yann Arnaud was performing in the aerial straps when he fell onto the stage.

Arnaud was taken to the hospital where he eventually died from his injuries. The aerialist has been performing with Cirque for over 15 years.

Due to the tragedy, performances of Volta were canceled today.

Find out more about this tragic situation here.

  1. It’s very tragic but he could have fallen over the audience and killed or hurt the guests. They really need to rethink how they do their shows and add a safety harness.
