A couple of days back I received a targeted offer from MileagePlus where I could earn up to 10,500 bonus United miles for renting a car with Hertz.
I was definitely interested in the offer since I’m looking to rent a car for a few days for an upcoming trip.
Keep in mind- this is a targeted offer and not transferable. So, if you didn’t receive an e-mail you won’t qualify for the bonus.
Here are the details of how the offer works:
- Earn 750 United miles will be earned per Hertz rental.
- To earn 1,500 bonus United miles, the car rental needs to be a mid-size car or larger and be booked through United.com.
- Those who received the offer e-mail can also earn an extra bonus of 3,000 United miles per rental two times.
Car rentals need to be picked up by April 15 so there isn’t much time to earn the bonus.
I thought that I could squeeze in one rental to earn a bonus of 5,500 miles but the car search results did not show the airport where I need to pick up the car. The funny thing is that if I go directly to Hertz.com, the location shows up!
Based on this, it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to take advantage of this offer.
