Earlier today I received an offer to earn a bonus of 5,000 Citi ThankYou points!
This is much better than a similar offer I received back in April where I could earn a bonus of 2,500 points.
The offer is relatively easy to earn and is available on my Citi ThankYou Premier card. Before I continue I’ll mention that it does appear to be a targeted offer.
To earn the bonus I first need to add an authorized user so I can “earn points for every purchase they make — getting you closer to great rewards even faster,” according to the e-mail from Citi.
Once the authorized user is added the promo begins. Then, all I need to do is spend $3,000 on my Citi ThankYou Premier card by 9/30/16 to earn a bonus of 5,000 Citi ThankYou points!
The question is, should bother going for the bonus?
I’m currently working on the minimum spend of a new credit card and haven’t been doing any manufactured spend. Putting $3,000 on the card by 9/30 is certainly doable but is it really worth it? I guess I’ll have to think it over and decide.
Did you receive this offer from the Citi ThankYou Premier card? If so, do you plan to earn the bonus?
Duh- Two reasons- Maybe you’re not working on the minimum spend on a new card. You want to build up your TY points.
Umm. No. $3k is the min on basically every cc. So why put 3 thousand on this card to get 5000 points when that money could get u 50,000 pts or more???
