11 Summer Music Festivals To Consider

a large crowd of people in a parkBack in college many summers were filled with attending concerts, especially a couple of music festivals. I used to love spending long days at packed venues like Randall’s Island (in NYC) hearing lots of great music with friends.

The two festivals that I had attended were Lollapalooza and HORDE Festival. Both events featured artists performing on multiple stages and traveled around the country to various cities. Lollapalooza still exists after a reboot and only plays a couple of shows per year, HORDE’s last show was in 1998.

I can’t say that I’m really interested in concerts anymore but memories of those music festivals still stand out.

Conde Naste recently ran an article which reminded me of those festivals. They wrote the post: 11 Summer Music Festivals To Mark On You Calendar Now.

Here are the festivals:

  • Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival
  • Bonnarro Music and Arts Festival
  • Summerfest- Milwaukee
  • Essence Festival- New Orleans
  • Pitchfork Music Festival- Chicago
  • Gathering of the Vibes- Bridgeport, CT
  • Newport  Folk Festival
  • Pickathon- Happy Valley,Oregon
  • Lollapalooza- Chicago
  • Outside Lanes- San Francisco
  • Bumbershoot- Seatte

While I won’t be attending any of these festivals, here is your chance to share your input. Have you checked out any of them out? If so how was it?

    1. Daryn- I can’t say that I’ve heard of Electric Forest but it does look really fun. Interesting music lineup- I was surprised that I actually knew some of the acts!
