One of my favorites shows will be starting it’s new season on September 29.

The Amazing Race is back on CBS- Sunday nights at 8pm ET with a new cast of traveling competitors.

If you love travel then The Amazing Race is for you. Each week teams of two travel to destinations all over the world getting clues and completing various tasks. The winning team shares a prize of $1 million! I’ve been watching the show since it debuted in 2001.

Here is some info from The Amazing Race site:

The Amazing Race is a multi-Emmy Award-winning reality series hosted by Emmy Award- nominated host Phil Keoghan, which pits 11 teams, each comprised of two members, against each other on a trek around the world for approximately 25 days. At every destination, each team must compete in a series of challenges, some mental and some physical, and only when the tasks are completed will they learn of their next location. Teams who are the farthest behind will gradually be eliminated as the contest progresses, with the first team to arrive at the final destination winning $1 million.

The Cast:

  • Ally & Ashley– LA Kings Ice Crew
  • Chester & Ephraim– former NFL teammates
  • Nicole & Kim– MLB baseball wives
  • Leo & Jamal– cousins
  • Rowan & James– theater performers
  • Hoskote & Naina– father/ daughter
  • Jason & Amy– dating couple
  • Brandon & Adam– childhood friends
  • Nicole & Travis– married doctors
  • Tim & Danny– best friends
  • Tim & Marie– ex-couple

I’m looking forward to seeing which countries the teams will visit and what drama will unfold racing to the finish line.

  1. I love love love Amazing Race as well! I still remember the first season and still think that was the best season out of all of them.

I have mixed feelings about Amazing Race nowadays in regards to how they book airline tickets. I preferred the earlier seasons when teams didn’t use the internet to book flights and have to rely on their negotiation skills with the travel agent/airport agents.

    1. Joey- I don’t remember the first season too well but I thought in earlier seasons less info was given to the teams. I think they needed to figure out (using clues) which city/ country to fly to, they weren’t just given the info. I also feel like now the focus isn’t on booking the flights as much as it used to be.

  2. Ani- Sounds like an interesting group of countries they’ll be visiting. I feel like in the earlier seasons there was more shown about booking the flights.

Mark- I’ve always wanted to do the Amazing Race! Bourdain does have an amazing job! I haven’t watched much since he moved to CNN.

  3. As per RFF(realty fan forum) website, the countries visited this season are –
    In order
    USA-CHILE-PORTUGAL-NORWAY-POLAND-AUSTRIA-UAE-INDONESIA-JAPAN
I’m eagerly awaiting the routes and airlines they take during the race!
