Lombardi’s claims to be the first and oldest pizzeria in America, having opened in 1905. The issue with Lombardi’s claim is that it closed in 1984 and didn’t open again until 10 years later, in a new location.
Lombardi’s does make excellent pies and I definitely recommend a visit if you’re in NYC.

When I read about a new place which was serving a new style of pizza in Brooklyn, I needed to give Aita Pizzeria in Clinton Hill a try. We visited a few days after the shop opened (in September) and I have to say that we were really impressed.

took place in SoHo where Slice Out Hunger for The Sylvia Center and City Harvest. $50,000 was raised
