They say that cats have nine lives but one dog in Georgia got a new lease on life thanks to the Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport Customs Department.

Win A Trip to the SEC Championship in Atlanta

SEC Championship

Southwest is giving one lucky winner the chance to win a trip for 2 to see the SEC Championship Game, held in Atlanta.

While I haven’t been a fan of college football in years, I’d still love to win this prize to attend the big game. I also happen to like the city of Atlanta and have visited the city each of the past two years. Continue reading Win A Trip to the SEC Championship in Atlanta

A Deli-cious Burger at The General Muir

The General Muir

At the end of April I headed to Atlanta to attend the Freddie Awards which took place at the amazing Delta Flight Museum. During my visit I also took part in a couple of other frequent flyer events including the Delta Jet Drag.

Prior to heading to Atlanta I had come across a restaurant that I had to check out. Thanks to an article from Eater I found out about 21 Must Eat & Best Burgers in America. Considering burgers are one of my favorite foods, I had to get to a place in Atlanta which made the list. Continue reading A Deli-cious Burger at The General Muir

A Visit to the Original Chick-fil-A: Dwarf House

Chick fil A Dwarf House

I wouldn’t consider myself a big fan of fast food but if I had to pick a favorite, my choice would be easy- Chick-fil-A!

(I should probably mention here though that I do love to visit McDonald’s when going to new countries to see what unique items might be on the menu.)

For Memorial Day weekend in 2014, Kim, Lucas and I headed to Atlanta to check out some of what the city had to offer. We didn’t rent a car so we took the local MARTA trains and buses (along with one Uber) to get around.

Since we didn’t have a rental car, we passed on visiting one place that I really wanted to check out. Continue reading A Visit to the Original Chick-fil-A: Dwarf House

A Visit to the CDC Museum- Atlanta, GA

CDC Museum

Last month I headed to Atlanta with the main purpose being to attend the Freddie Awards.

However, I couldn’t just fly there for an awards ceremony. I had to find some things to do in the area. While I’d also have a chance to drag a Delta jet for a good cause, I wanted to explore more of what Atlanta had to offer.

Prior to attending the Freddies, I arranged for a tour of the Waffle House Museum and I have to say that it was pretty awesome!

I then headed out to tour another odd museum, the CDC Museum. Continue reading A Visit to the CDC Museum- Atlanta, GA

A Visit to the Waffle House Museum

Waffle House Museum

At the end of April I headed to Atlanta for some frequent-traveler related events. The main reason for the visit was to attend the Freddie Awards. I also had a couple of other related events on the agenda with the more interesting one being the Delta Jet Drag.

Prior to heading off to Atlanta, I was surprised to get great customer service from United. However, I did find their text messaging service to be a waste of time.

Whenever I head off on a trip, regardless of the main purpose, I have to do some research to find out what else the area might have to offer. Since I had been to Atlanta just shy of a year before, I had some ideas… Continue reading A Visit to the Waffle House Museum

I’ll Be Dragging A Jet For A Good Cause

Plane Pull

Last year I had a great time visiting the Delta Flight Museum which is located at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

When I found out that the Freddie Awards would be held at the museum I knew it was an event that I didn’t want to miss. I’ll be heading to Atlanta on Wednesday afternoon, a day prior to the big awards ceremony.

I was beyond excited and honored to be invited by Ed Pizzarello of the Pizza in Motion blog to participate in an event for a good cause the day after the Freddies, the Delta Jet Drag.

How I Used My $300 United Credit From A Flight Cancellation

United CreditBack in early 2014, Kim, Lucas and I took our first trip of the year to Norway.

Our flight home got cancelled due to an approaching winter storm back in the NYC area. I then wrote more about the situation in the post, Hey United, I want my $158+ back. And then there was a update on that post. As the situation progressed there was even a second update.

After waiting a bit, United got back to me asking for the original receipts for my expenses due to the flight cancellation which I did not have. Continue reading How I Used My $300 United Credit From A Flight Cancellation
